Florian is the only
biological child of a powerful vampire elder
named Nikolai Lazarescu, who has taken over a
fictional branch of the Russian Mafia that
operates out of the city of Santa Marta in
California.
Florian is bit of a spoiled brat, growing up
denied absolutely nothing by his powerful
vampiric parent. He has a poor understanding of
boundaries and appropriate social behaviors --
and an incredibly warped sense of morals thanks
to being raised, not only by a vampire, but
within the criminal underground as well. He tends
to think of humans as little more than property
-- pets at best and disposable pawns at worst.
At least, generally speaking. There are humans
who have gained his respect and trust, but they're
generally higher-ranking members of his father's
organization. The only human that Florian has
ever come close to seeing as his equal is Viktor
Dimitrov, his father's security agen and his
current romantic partner.
Due to the fact that Florian's father sees him as
little more than a trophy/proof of the extent of
his power, Florian is emotionally stunted and
emotionally repressed -- having difficulty
expressing affection or anything more than a sort
of cocky self-absorption. He desperately wants to
be seen as useful by his father and desperately
wants to gain his approval but doesn't know how
to do so.
To deal with his emotional issues, Florian tends
to do stupid shit like antagonizing other
vampires in the Court of Santa Marta, casual sex
and by playing around with drugs and alcohol to
an extent that he probably shouldn't (this is
partially because, being part vampire, he has a
high resistance to everything but IV drugs and
Florian hates needles.)
When
it comes to gender and transition, Florian has
had an easier time than a lot of people -- mostly
due to the fact that his father is an incredibly
old and powerful vampire, who doesn't give a fuck
about gender or sexuality at this point.
Additionally, when Florian hit puberty, the
powers granted to him by his vampiric heritage
also kicked in -- which allowed him to shapeshift.
Florian isn't capable of (nor really interested
in) completely changing his body, thus he still
has breasts and a "female" reproductive
system, though he has an enlarged clitoris,
thicker body hair, a deeper voice and a somewhat
androgynous distribution of body fat, much like
someone who has been on testosterone for a long
period of time. He is not currently on HRT
because he doesn't really need to be.
Florian doesn't have much in the way of physical
dysphoria, largely due to the fact that he was
able to influence his physical development during
puberty to go in a direction that made him happy.
He does suffer from quite a lot of social
dysphoria and is often frustrated with how
difficult it seems to be for him to get people to
take him seriously as a man.
